MEET WAYNE
My name is Wayne Griffith.
Diving changed my life!
I have been enjoying scuba diving with friends and clients since my first “group” trip to Belize in 1997.
I received my PADI Open Water Diver certification in October of 1992. After completing the Advance Open Water class in 1993, I decided to become a PADI Divemaster and Rescue Diver in 2001. Now, I am an Open Water Scuba Instructor, EFR First Responder, and proud member of Project Aware.
I am an avid photographer and videographer. My clients enjoy reliving their Go Deep Scuba adventures through the pictures and videos I provide after returning from our trips.
My entire family is PADI certified. They often accompany me on group trips. My clients regularly become good friends.
I have been calling Santa Rosa, California my home since 1975. I enjoy my rental home at The Sea Ranch, two hours north of Santa Rosa. With great blue-water views, Footloose is available for guests year around. During Abalone season I free-dive on the northern Pacific Ocean coastline regularly.
I was born and raised in San Diego graduating from Hoover High School in 1969. I moved up to Santa Rosa in 1975 to attend Santa Rosa Junior College. After graduating from SRJC, I enrolled at Sonoma State University graduating in 1978 with a BA degree in Environmental Studies and Planning.
I spent a couple years in the Navy before being discharged in 1972. I was stationed on Midway Island for close to a year. While there I got my first taste of snorkeling. Midway is surrounded by coral reefs. Too bad I did not get scuba certified while I was on Midway. Looking back, I could have spent an additional twenty years scuba diving.
It seems I have been involved with sales all my life. I have early memories of selling seed packets and Christmas cards door to door in my neighborhood as a young child. In my teens, I sold magazines, cutlery, vacuum cleaners, and fire alarms. I’m still at it today, providing tropical adventures.
Upon graduating from SSU, I spent two years installing and servicing HVAC systems in mobile homes. I finally found a job in the alternative energy field selling thermal solar, photovoltaic systems, and wind generators. That lasted two years before I found a job as a manufacturer’s representative selling HVAC equipment to the wholesale industry. In 1982, I began a 35-year career in the hydronic and radiant heating industry. I retired from Pace Supply Corp in January 2018.
I am married and have two adult children. My wife and children are all certified divers. I am proud to say that my son recently left active duty after spending 10 years as a Navy Diver.
Recently, I have become an ordained Universal Life Church Minister. As such, I can legally officiate weddings across the US.
Now, I am using time to organize amazing diving trips to beautiful, warm tropical places. Join me on one of these upcoming adventures!
